23 Things Only Travel Addicts Will Relate To

I love travel, to me it’s happiness, it’s inspiring, & refreshing! And I don’t mind being called an addict because nothing would make me feel good about myself as much as travel does, when in doubt I travel, when in pain I travel, when I am totally broke I find my ways to travel.

Therefore I have put together a list showing how addicted I am, knowing for a fact that every travel addict out there will relate to… Can you?

Whether broke or out of vacation time you always plan the next trip

Once stung by the travel bug there is no way back. You start planning your vacation while you are already on one, you don’t know when can you make it, or even if you can afford it but you just plan it.

You can do anything to pay for that trip

You’d give up on that phone though yours is half broken, that purse you long saved for only to have enough money that you need to travel.

You price everything in flight tickets

Whenever you go shopping, splurge, or pay any unnecessary expense, you back down while thinking to yourself “this amount could get me a flight ticket to…”

You bridge every vacation with a public holiday and you know next year’s public holidays by heart

You really know how to get the best benefit out of public holidays, you are a travel guru who knows how to double his/her paid leave just like that.

As much as trip planning excites you it also drives you out of your mind

It’s fun, it’s challenging, yet exhausting and a real pain -especially if someone is counting on your skills-, you put all your effort, wanting everything to be perfect because you’re the expert for God’s sake there is no room for mistakes!

Travel gets the best out of you

Because when you do not travel, you feel like a poor fish who’s asked to survive out of the water, so when you travel you go back to your natural habitat.

When your mobile is out of memory you get rid of everything except your travel apps

Can you possibly live without Foursquare? Tripadvisor? or Rome2Rio?…

Every trip you challenge yourself to be a smarter traveller

You don’t just travel to discover a new place or to find yourself, you also travel to become better at travelling; be it by learning to pack lighter, to plan wiser -or not to plan at all-, to book cheaper, to better survive on long haul flights, etc.

Trying Unusual Stuff Excite You

A traveller is curious, is someone who’s open to the world, wanting to suck the juice out of life, that’s why whenever there is something new that could be experienced s/he will be more than thrilled to experience it!

Whenever in doubt you travel

Nothing restores your balance and makes sense out of your life as much as travel does to your mind, body, and soul.

While everybody is saving for their marriage you’re spending yours on your next trip

Could be funny to some, but very sad to others…But to me, it’s only one life so better live in the present, rather in the unknown future 😉

Your relationship goals: Marry a traveller

It’s clear and simple! You cannot possibly imagine marrying someone who’s life does not revolve around travel.

Your travel list never stops growing

As much as you love it, you hate it too..Because knowing about new places, and being excited to get hands-on experience is priceless, however realising that there is still too much to see makes you feel like one life is certainly not enough!

Nothing inspires you as much as travel does

It’s as if someone has pushed your restart button 🙂

You frequently get post vacation blues

As much as you return home refreshed you also feel like “why am I back?”, “why can’t I be travelling all the time?”, “it’s about time to plan for my next trip, so I have something exciting to look forward to”.

After every vacation you ask yourself if your day job is even worth it

Oh yes! well that’s another sign that you must plan your next trip.

You don’t mind selling your belongings to live your entire life in a caravan

Do you really mind being constantly on the road, visiting new places, meeting different people, and living some sort of nomadic life?

Your ultimate goal is to become a full-time travel blogger/ vlogger

It’s not as easy as it seems to be, you have to be exceptionally good at it to get profit out of it..Remember that there are so many fish in the sea, so you must be unique!

You encourage everyone to travel

Because what else can people do? Travel is life…

You have a special corner in your house or office where you display all your souvenirs

You can deprive yourself of spending your money, but when it comes to souvenir shopping you become very helpless, you always want to buy things that will take your mind and heart back to that place you fell in love with. Your souvenirs corner is just; NOSTALGIC, a feel good place!

Trip-advising and planning are just an obsession

You do not mind spending hours, and hours convincing someone to go somewhere you have been, or just read about, and it gets better as you do not mind getting yourself into the planning process.

You get euphoric when you see a random photo of a place you’ve been or recognize a place you stumbled upon

When you are watching National Geographic or Travel Channel and they are talking about a certain topic, then bam you find out that you’ve been to this place, or have read a lot about it and now you know where exactly it is.

…And above all the minute you see for real a place you’ve been longing to visit

Travellers out there can you relate to any of the above? Have you got other ideas that you believe travel addicts will relate to? Let us know in the comments below!
